No point in dividing the daffodils – the soil is so loose, they just move each other out of the way. The wood chip mulch provides a slow and steady release of nutrients. The lush green grass on the edge shows no lack of nitrogen tied up in the mulch. (And that would be another homestead mouser on watch!)
