This bottom drawer is a modification of the traditional Warre design. It has already proven its worth! Makes it SO easy to pull this out from the back without disturbing the front entrance. Debris, dead bees, etc. are caught on the screen; smaller material (any varroa mites? easy to check!) falls through the 1/8″ screen to a white corrugated plastic liner, which makes everything easy to see, remove, and dispose of in a safe place.
