We have both the Anna's and the Rufous hummingbirds in our area. Perhaps this is a young Anna's? It seems more green, rather than the rusty coloring characteristic of Rufous - but it seemed particularly small.
Pine Siskins have been with us all winter. With their short notched tails and quick wingbeats, they seem to be able to do all kinds of aerial acrobatics. They are a frequent visitor to the seed station, but also eat insects.
