Philadelphus (lewisii or P. coronarius?) Mock orange - whose delicate fragrance mixes with the cedars.
Fireweed, aka Willow Herb - another good fiber plant. The leaves can be fermented to make an excellent tea called Ivan Chai, which tastes a lot like green tea. It comes up in the greenhouse and grows like crazy - but can survive quite well on Alaskan hillsides.
